Western Star's 0.14% WO3 Soil Result Could Be the Start of a Much Bigger American Tungsten Story

Western Star Resources (OTCQB: WSRIF; CSE: WSR) has an early result at its Rowland Tungsten Property in Nevada that deserves a closer look before drilling begins.

The attention-grabber is a peak soil result of 1,425 parts per million tungsten trioxide, or approximately 0.14% WO3. It came from directly over recently rediscovered historical workings.

A soil sample doesn’t prove a deposit. But when a strong result appears over ground where tungsten was worked before, the question is: What else might be there?

Investors can follow the answer as it develops through Western Star’s official Stocktwits account, @WesternStarResources.

Strong tungsten values also came from the Rowland Main workings, and the broader program traced a coherent tungsten signature across roughly one kilometer. Better yet, the strongest soil anomalies line up with geological contacts shown in Western Star’s drone-magnetic survey.

Why does that matter? Exploration gets more interesting when historical workings, soil results and magnetic data start pointing in the same direction.

Western Star is using those clues to extend the search area, narrow down targets, and decide where a drill could matter most.

Since then, on July 15, Western Star released the first modern, high-resolution magnetic dataset for the adjoining White Star Tungsten Project. The survey produced four follow-up zones and added a second piece to the consolidated Jarbidge-Charleston dataset.

Western Star is combining the White Star and Rowland surveys into one district-scale magnetic product, then adding pending rock-chip and soil results from both projects.

Then, on July 21, Western Star added Dahrouge Geological Consulting to its technical team. Dahrouge is reviewing data from the past-producing Eagle Point Mine in New Mexico to define drill targets and build a model. Western Star is targeting a maiden 2026 drill program, followed by work toward a mineral resource estimate.

Put those pieces together, and investors now have several things to watch: expanded Rowland sampling, White Star geochemistry, district-scale geophysics, ranked drill targets, and potential maiden drilling.

None of this is happening in a quiet tungsten market. Prices have reached record territory as Chinese export controls and military demand put tremendous pressure on Western supply chains. The U.S. has no active commercial tungsten mine despite its importance to defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.

To be clear, Western Star hasn’t reported a drill intercept or established a mineral resource. What it has done is produce a strong soil result, confirm that the geochemistry lines up with its magnetic model and identify several ways the story could advance.

The real question now is simple: How far does the tungsten-bearing system extend beyond the known workings?

Western Star’s expanded program is meant to find out. If the soil and magnetic signatures continue into untested ground, Rowland could become a much bigger part of the U.S. tungsten story.

For investors following WSRIF, the next updates will be worth watching. Rowland has the 0.14% result, White Star has four follow-up zones, and Eagle Point has added technical support. With several projects advancing, investors have even more reasons to keep WSRIF on their high-conviction watchlist.
