Drones, Drill Targets and a Stock That Has More Than Doubled: Western Star Enters Its Next Phase

WSRIF has more than doubled since July 8 as Western Star deploys high-resolution drone geophysics at Eagle Point and advances a three-project U.S. tungsten strategy toward drilling.

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR; OTCQB: WSRIF; FRA: 4K2) has moved beyond assembling a U.S. tungsten portfolio. It is now systematically converting historically productive ground into modern drill targets - and the market has responded with a dramatic revaluation.

The numbers are hard to ignore. WSRIF closed at US$0.2021 on July 8. In a September 10 morning market snapshot, the shares were trading at US$0.417 - approximately 106% above that July 8 close. On September 8, WSRIF closed at US$0.434 on volume of 1,203,495 shares.

That market performance has developed alongside an accelerating exploration program across three past-producing U.S. tungsten assets in Nevada and New Mexico.

The newest chapter is Eagle Point.

On September 2, Western Star mobilized a geophysical field crew to its 100%-owned Eagle Point tungsten project in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, to complete a property-wide, high-resolution UAV magnetic survey. The survey is being flown at 25-to-50-metre line spacing to define the limestone-intrusive contact and magnetite-bearing tactite bodies that host scheelite mineralization, including beneath cover, while extending the eight skarn bodies known from historical workings along strike.

This is not an isolated exploration exercise. It is the next deployment of a strategy Western Star has already used to sharpen the geological picture at Rowland and White Star in Nevada.

At those Nevada properties, Western Star combined high-resolution drone magnetics with geological mapping, geochemistry and sampling. The company's August 26 district-scale 3D magnetic inversion defined buried and partially exposed intrusive bodies and approximately 25 kilometres of interpreted structures across the district. Western Star's strongest reported rock-chip results - 4.02% WO3 at Rowland and 3.00% WO3 at White Star - occur spatially near modeled intrusive-carbonate contacts and interpreted structures.

That matters because the exploration model is becoming increasingly connected: intrusion, carbonate host, structural pathways and high-grade surface assays are being mapped into one three-dimensional targeting framework.

Western Star is now taking that same playbook to Eagle Point.

The Eagle Point survey is designed to map prospective contacts in far greater detail than the existing coarse-resolution regional geophysics. The resulting data will be integrated with geological mapping and sampling to rank targets for drill testing and support the drill-permitting process. The announced program calls for approximately three weeks of data acquisition, followed by processing and interpretation.

Western Star has also strengthened its board as the company moves into this next phase.

Effective September 11, Garland Scott joined Western Star's board of directors, bringing 26 years of experience in financial services, business development and strategic consulting. His background includes senior roles with Bank of America and Goldman Sachs, where he worked with financial advisors and high-net-worth clients and delivered institutional investment solutions. Scott later served as Business Development and Consultant Director at SEM Wealth Management and as Chief Growth Officer of On3 Strategies.

For a junior exploration company advancing a growing U.S. critical-minerals portfolio, that addition brings substantial capital-markets and business-development experience directly into the boardroom.

The timing adds another strategic layer.

Beginning January 1, 2027, U.S. Department of Defense procurement restrictions expand upstream for tungsten sourced from covered countries, extending into the mining or production of tungsten ore and feedstock used in tungsten metal powders and heavy alloys. Those covered countries include China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. For a company advancing three past-producing tungsten assets on U.S. soil, the policy backdrop is moving in the same direction as the exploration strategy.

This is the transformation investors are watching.

Western Star is no longer simply presenting historical tungsten occurrences. It is applying modern geophysics, certified assays, mapping and three-dimensional interpretation across a growing domestic portfolio, then using that data to define and rank drill targets.

Nevada has already demonstrated what the approach can reveal. Eagle Point is now receiving the same high-resolution treatment. Western Star has now put an additional near-term catalyst directly on the calendar: in its September 11 announcement, the company said updates regarding assays on the Rowland, White Star and Eagle Point properties are expected very soon. That gives investors three project-level assay streams to watch as Western Star continues advancing its 2026 exploration agenda.

Three past-producing U.S. tungsten assets. A repeatable modern exploration strategy. High-grade surface results. Expanding three-dimensional targets. Active drone geophysics in New Mexico. Assay updates across Rowland, White Star and Eagle Point expected very soon. New board-level capital-markets experience. A path toward drilling.

And since July 8, WSRIF has more than doubled as Western Star has moved rapidly from portfolio building to systematic target generation.

For investors following the U.S. critical-minerals sector, Western Star has entered a new phase: three advancing domestic tungsten projects, multiple near-term assay catalysts, a strengthened board and a market that is paying attention.
